Honouring the Sacred Circle: A Two Spirit Journey of Truth and Reconciliation

Sep 29, 2026 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Mississippi Mills Public Library, Almonte Branch

155 High Street
Almonte, Ontario K0A 1A0 Canada

This Truth and Reconciliation Day (September 30th), join MISSISSIPPI MILLS ALL MY RELATIONS on September 29th, for a transformative evening of reflection, growth, and storytelling led by Dylan Michael Jenkins, an Omushkego/Anishinabe Two Spirit Knowledge Carrier,  Storyteller and Master Teacher.

Traditionally celebrated as mediators, healers, and keepers of oral history, Two Spirit individuals held both masculine and feminine energies to bring balance to their communities. Colonization and the residential school system targeted this sacred role, enforcing strict binaries to disrupt traditional kinship. Today, reclaiming the Two Spirit identity is a powerful act of decolonization and healing—a vital reminder that true reconciliation means restoring the inclusive circles that existed before contact.

Our community deeply respects the path of reconciliation, and we invite you to move beyond history lessons and step into a shared journey of collective growth. Come listen, reflect on how we can bring greater balance to our modern places, spaces, and relations and help ensure our community circle remains strong and unbroken. Join Dylan, a member of York Factor First Nation (MB) as we gather on September 29 at 7:00pm at the Almonte Public Library, and as always, please bring an open heart and a willingness to reflect.
